BUNDABERG will host the 2014 Women in Sugar Conference, March 11-12.
Dianne Bailey said the two-day program was an opportunity for women involved in the sugar industry to meet like-minded women from other areas.
She said the focus would be on networking with women from across the state and looking at the unique diversity many growers were involved in. The first day will feature local and interstate guest speakers, including Queensland Sugar Limited board member Sarah Scales and Danielle Crismani - the founder of the Baked Relief organisation, which came to fruition after the 2010-11 Brisbane floods.
Mrs Bailey said it was only the second conference of its kind and she hoped about 60 women would attend.
A gala dinner at Rowers on the River would showcase local produce and a bus tour around the district would look at innovation in many industries. If you would like more information phone Dianne Bailey on 4157 6198 or visit www.bdbcanegrowers.com.au.
► The conference will be held at the Bundaberg Business Enterprise Centre and costs $66.
