Weaner steers crack the 400c/kg mark in Biggenden

BURNETT Livestock and Realty's meatworks and store sale on May 1 had a yarding of 1010 head.

There were limited bullocks yarded, therefore not enough results to quote. Cows over 500kg topped at 250c/kg, with cows 400kg to 500kg topping at 251c/kg.

Trade heifers over 400kg topped at 286c/kg.

Feeder steers 400kg to 500kg sold to a top of 330c/kg while steers 300kg to 400kg sold to 345c/kg.

Steers 200kg to 300kg sold to 406c. Heifers 300kg to 400kg sold to a top of 392c/kg with heifers 200kg to 300kg topping at 336c/kg.

Cattle were drawn from Monto, Sexton, Tansey, Eidsvold, Mundubbera, Mt Perry, Gayndah, Maryborough, Hervey Bay, Childers, Bundaberg, Waterloo, Bucca, Rosedale, Lowmead, Miriam Vale, Gin Gin, Booyal and all local areas.

The next Biggenden meatworks and store sale is Monday, May 15.
