THERE is a three-way tie for the lead after the first 300 runs in the Pryde's EasiFeed Warwick Gold Cup Campdraft.
Hugh Philp from Clermont riding Macks Lady, Wandoan rider Cameron Webster on Bob and Jody Crozier from the Wandoan area riding A-Latta share the lead on 90.
Crozier was seventh into the arena after the 5am start, but the early morning had no impact on her or the horse as she took the lead.
There are 22 riders in equal fourth place on 89.
Webster has started what looks like a busy week with a share of the lead. He is one of 15 finalists for saddle bronc in the Warwick Rodeo APRA National Finals.
One of the top performers in campdrafting this week so far is Nebo rider Pete Comiskey.
He is competing on six horses in the Black Toyota Canning Downs Campdraft and nine in the Gold Cup. Some are his own horses while he is riding horses for some owners.
One of the owners is Mackay resident Lisa Ryan who owns 12-year-old mare Reba.
Comiskey scored 88 on Reba in the Canning Downs Campdraft on Monday and scored 89 early Tuesday on the same horse in round
one of the Warwick Gold Cup.
After his first five runs, Comiskey had an average score of 88.2 as recorded by Campdraft Central.
Comiskey has two horses on 89, Reba and Prada Miss, early in the cup.
His first six campdraft scores were two of 89, two of 88 and two of 87.
More round one action in both major drafts on Wednesday.
