AS a father and son try to come to terms with losing everything after a fire destroyed their home, two Rockhampton businesses are determined to do what they can to help.
When Trevor Wooderson, from Aussie Battler Removals, heard about the tragedy that struck Tully Roberts and his son Jackson on Friday, his only thought was to help out.
The home Mr Roberts was renting was one of two Rockhampton houses to catch fire this month.
Firefighters fought for an hour to control the blaze.
In the end, they weren't able to save any possessions and Mr Roberts and Jackson were left without a home.
"He is a single dad, and they've lost everything," said Mr Wooderson.
"I spoke with Nick at Masters to see what they can donate and now we're appealing to the public to help in any way they can."
Masters have donated a brand new barbecue, fridge, washing machine, mower, whipper snipper and electrical equipment.
"But we still need other items," said Mr Wooderson.
"Tully and Jackson are staying with friends until they can find somewhere.
"They have a bed each but we need to find them some furniture."
In particular, Mr Wooderson is hoping someone would be able to donate a lounge, a table and chairs, cutlery, crockery and cookware. Also needed are small men's clothes and size 16 boys clothes.
Mr Wooderson said any donated items not needed would be donated to other charities.
