SOME sections are down, some are up, but the quality across the board has been outstanding.
That was the consensus from the hard-working stewards who were yesterday busy setting up for the 147th Grafton Agricultural Show.
Pavilion Chief Steward Vikki Fletcher was helping co-ordinate the huge effort in the Grafton Showground's Main Pavilion yesterday and said visitors were in for a treat.
"The number of entries in the art section has been overwhelming. We usually have about four cabinets at the end of the art section with other items in them, but we had to take those out this year just to fit all the art entries this year," Ms Fletcher said.
Chief photography section steward Michelle Thornton said shutterbugs had also thrown themselves into the competition .
"We've actually had to limit the photographic entries this year. Last year we had about 400 and we just didn't have the room to display them all," Ms Thornton said.
Unfortunately entries in weather-dependent sections like cut flowers and produce have taken a hit.
But stewards overseeing these sections said it was definitely a case of quality over quantity..
