Detectives invesitage suspicous fire on rural property

UPDATE: Detectives are investigating a suspicious fire at Allora last night.

Emergency services were called at 8pm after reports of a shed on fire at a property on Goomburra St.

The property was unoccupied at the time and no one was physically injured as a result of the fire.

The shed, as well as furniture and tools contained inside, was  destroyed as a result of the fire.

A crime scene has been established and scientific officers along with fire investigators will return to the property today.

Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the vicinity of Goomburra St about 7.30 last night is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

EARLIER: Update has been destroyed by fire on a property south of Toowoomba, with investigators working to determine the cause.

Two Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews were called to the Goomburra St property in Hendon just after 8pm with reports the fire was well involved.

A Rural Fire Service crew was called in to back up QFES crews which were battling the fire with hose reels.

Firefighters removed the roofing tin to gain access and dampen down hotspots after the bulk of the fire was extinguished.

The 7m x 14m shed was destroyed in the fire.

A QFES spokesman said fire investigators were returning to the property today to determine what sparked the blaze.
