Grower workshop

GROWCOM'S workplace relations specialist Donna Mogg will deliver a seminar focused on employment and workplace, health and safety information, advice and resources to a range of horticulture businesses in Stanthorpe on November 19.

The seminar will deliver vital information regarding Fair Work Act and Work Health and Safety requirements, visa matters, and the new workplace bullying laws which come into effect in 2014.

The seminars also cover the employment cycle, from hiring to firing, with a range of sensible and practical advice and information to assist employers to streamline and simplify their approaches.

QCWA bursary

CONDAMINE Valley/Warwick Branch is now offering two $1000 bursaries to students who will complete Year 12 this year and will commence their tertiary studies in 2014.

Students' home addresses must be in the QCWA Border Division, which covers all the secondary schools to Year 12, and includes Clifton, Warwick and Stanthorpe.

Applicants are to submit written proof of achievement; written proof of financial difficulty; three character references; details of continuing course; short (500 words) resume of applicant's achievements and future aspirations.

Applications close on January 31.
