Rinehart buys further property in the Territory

Australia's richest woman, Gina Rinehart, has bought another cattle station in northern Australia, acquiring Aroona Station, 100 kilometres west of Katherine.

The purchase further cements Mrs Rinehart and her company Hancock Prospecting as one of the biggest cattle producers in Australia.

Aroona Station, previously owned by the McLoughlin family, covers an area of nearly 150,000 hectares and holds around 15,000 head of Brahman cattle.
