More restocker buyers were present at the sale and the extra competition pushed prices higher for weaner steers.
Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topped at 226c/kg and averaged 175c/kg, while steers in the 350-400kg range reached 224c/kg and averaged 187c/kg and steers in the 280-350kg range reached 223c/kg and averaged 186c/kg.
Weaner steers in the 220-280kg range reached 224c/kg and averaged 201c/kg, while weaners under 220kg topped at 222c/kg and averaged 205c/kg.
Heifers in the 350-450kg range reached 188c/kg and averaged 161c/kg.
Heifers in the 280-350kg range topped at 188c/kg and averaged 155c/kg.
Heifers in the 220-280kg range topped at 192c/kg and averaged 164c/kg, while heifers under 220kg topped at 192c/kg and averaged 172c/kg.
Ian Brumpton, Oaklands, Roma, sold angus heifers to 179c/kg and averaged 178c for 413kg to make $734.
Owen Burey, Springhill, Amby, sold droughtmaster heifers to 174c/kg for 402kg to return $701.
The Baillie family, Fairfield, Jackson, sold hereford heifers to 160c/kg for 313kg to return $501.
Raceview Pastoral Co, Yarrawonga, Charleville, sold santa heifers to 151c/kg for 405kg to make $613.
Cows over 500kg hit 158c/kg and averaged 138c/kg, while cows 400-500kg topped at 140c/kg and averaged 114c/kg. Cows in the 300-400kg range made 150c/kg and averaged 110c/kg.
Tumbar Grazing Co, Jericho, sold PTIC cows sold open auction to $770 and averaged $656 a head. Cows and calves reached $880/unit and averaged $750.
Bulls up to 400kg reached 174c/kg and average 150c/kg.
