THERE were reduced numbers at Nebo's October prime and store sale which yarded only 288 head of cattle.
This was in line with the rest of the state.
The market remained firm for all descriptions on the last Nebo sale, agent spokesman, saleyards manager, Leonard Coombs said.
Cattle were drawn from Bowen, Collinsville, Nebo, Middlemount and coastal areas.
The Wilkinson family from Collinsville sold a pen of prime cows for 132.2 cents weighing 543kg, returning nearly $720 per head.
Gaskowski and Parker sold a pen of charbray heifers for 167.2c/kg, weighing 340kg and averaging around $570p.h.
The Boyd family sold feeder bullocks to 163.2c/kg to return $715.75 per head.
Mal Burston sold a small number of weaner steers for 173.2c/kg and weighing 333kg to return more than $576 per head.
Mr Coombs said rain was needed in most areas which had dried off in the last three months.
Grain prices are affecting feedlot operations.
The next Nebo prime and store sale will be on Tuesday, November 13.
The Nebo horse sale will be held on Saturday, October 27.
