IMPROVED ride, along with a smoother and better on-road performance is being trumpeted by Mitsubishi, which has just upgraded the ASX range.
The sub-compact SUV line-up has been trimmed, with a pair of two-wheel drive petrol options and two four-wheel drive diesels. Mitsubishi has ousted the four-wheel drive petrol variant along with the "Aspire" specification name.
Buyers can opt for either the LS or XLS with each powerplant.
Improved features have been introduced across the range with no increase in prices.
The Mitsubishi ASX starts from $24,990 for the base model LS petrol variant with a manual transmission.
On the standard features list are daytime running lamps, new-design 17-inch alloys, black roof rails, privacy glass, chrome exterior and interior highlights. A new option is a Lightning Blue paint job.
The 2.0-litre petrol ASX models with a continuously variable automatic transmission are touted to offer more responsive acceleration feel from a standing start and at mid-range speeds, along with fuel economy improvements of about 4% - achieving an official consumption figure of 7.4-litres/100km.
Diesel models are partnered exclusively to a conventional six-speed automatic and have an average fuel consumption of 5.8 litres/100km.
