Mackay canegrowers are disappointed with agreement

CHAIRMAN of Queensland and Australian Canegrowers, Paul Schembri has expressed his extreme disappointment with the neglect of the sugar industry in free trade agreements with Japan.

"We were hopeful of a substantial outcome, that has not been the case," Mr Schembri said.

Mr Schembri is a born-and-raised Mackay cane farmer and believes the sugar industry has suffered a significant setback.
