LOOMING thunderstorm and the hope for a good drop of rain set the backdrop for the Ascot Cattle Company's Charolais and Angus stud open day at North Toolburra Station, Warwick, last Friday.

Stud principals Jim Wedge and Jackie Chard were happy with the role-up of prospective buyers from as far afield as Kilcoy in the north, and south to Baradine in New South Wales.

Mr Wedge said he had received good inquiry about his sale draft of 30 thick, easy doing Angus bulls by breed leading sires and 30 new generation high carcase trait Charolais bulls.

"It is an all polled bull sale and they are all working age yearling and two-year-old bulls," he said.

The on-property sale will be held at 1pm on Friday, November 8.
