SOCIAL media has changed the way many Australians communicate. Today there are many ways of getting in touch - mobile phones, texting, Facebook, Twitter. But has it improved the quality of our communication?
Last year, Relationships Australia Victoria conducted a national survey to examine the effect social media is having on our relationships. Although social media is largely seen as a positive development, it was found it is also causing relationship problems, largely around privacy, time demands and communication.
There are many issues that should be considered when using social media and other forms of communications and it is important that you speak openly about them with your partner and/or your children.
