ON NOVEMBER 7, the Pittsworth Show Society will hold a complete and comprehensive Beef Information Day at the Pittsworth Showgrounds from 10am.
More than 10 breeds of beef animals will be carcass-scanned by Leon Martin of Natural Eco Systems and Paul Kenny, who will later give a talk on bull semen testing and quality.
Ben Hill of Bulliac Angus Stud at Miles will talk and demonstrate the correct structure and conformation of a beef animal, and a Pacific Seeds representative will also give a talk on summer forages.
Felton Produce will have a Landcare planter and a special guest will speak on improved pasture.
A vet will also be on hand to discuss the benefits of vaccinations, while a nutritionist will talk about feeding sale bulls and other nutritional needs.
Six schools have also been invited to attend the day.
The day is free, with morning tea and a sausage sizzle lunch available.
Proceeds will go towards the Show Princess entrants.
