THE Queensland Parliament's next community cabinet meeting is to be held in the Southern Downs town of Goondiwindi on October 21 and 22.
It will be the fourth Newman Government community cabinet held in regional Queensland, and Mr Newman said Goondiwindi's unique attributes made it an ideal location for the meeting.
"Goondiwindi is heartland agricultural country, and will play a key role in getting Queensland back on track by contributing to our four pillar economy," Mr Newman said.
"Community Cabinet will be a great opportunity for locals to meet with members of the LNP Cabinet and tell us about their concerns and what is important to them.
"By taking Cabinet to different regions we get a good cross section of views about how we can make a change for the better in this State. We are also making sure Queenslanders, not politics, will power Queensland again."
All 19 members of the Cabinet will travel to Goondiwindi for the meeting.
Member for Southern Downs Lawrence Springborg predicted a range of issues would be raised.
"Infrastructure funding, support for the agriculture sector, government services and the cost of living are key local issues," he said.
"Community cabinet will give local residents and businesses the chance to discuss these and other matters with relevant Ministers and I encourage people to consider making an appointment to meet my cabinet colleagues.
"This is a great opportunity for locals to take their concerns directly to the decision makers."
All members of the public are welcome to register to request an appointment.
