A GOOD quality larger offering of 2257 cattle at the Sullivan Livestock Gympie sale on Monday had the market for all descriptions dearer.
Cattle were drawn from Gin Gin, Childers, Maryborough, Aramara, Kilkivan, Goomeri, Tansey, Woolooga, Manumbar, Nambour, Maleny, Kenilworth and all local areas.
Senepol x steers from John and Liz Allen, Nambour, sold for $3.47 ($1686).
Euro x steers from the Roger family, Maleny, sold for $3.48 ($1586), while their droughtmaster brothers made $3.45 ($1544).
Wilroze Pty Ltd, Netherby, sold a very good line of santa x steers for $3.50 ($1545 and $1532), $3.51 ($1392 and $1364).
Droughtmaster steers from Howard and Brenda Kirby, Gemini Downs, made $3.56 ($1451 and $1393) and $3.52 ($1438).
Droughtmaster x steers from Ben Bambling, Sexton, sold for $3.50 ($1386).
Droughtmaster steers from the Thomas family made $3.56 ($1404).
Charbray steers from Ted and Elizabeth Euston, Glastonbury, made $3.67 ($1410).
Charbray steers from Jeff and Wendy Klotz sold for $3.71 to return $1364 and $1334.
Droughtmaster steers from Craig Dakin, Gunalda, made $3.59 ($1255).
Charbray weiner steers from Stuart and Linda Vollmerhausen, Theebine made $3.94 ($1171 and $1155).
Droughtmaster steers from the Woodhead family, Wolvi sold for $4.22 ($870).
Generally better quality weaner steers sold from $3.65 to $4.22.
Feeder heifers topped at $3.42 to return $1349 and $1346, generally selling from $3.12 to $3.30.
Good condition vealer heifers sold from $3.20 to $3.48. Store heifers sold from $2.90 to $3.46.
Cows and calves topped at $1725 with the next run selling from $1300 to $1600.
The next meatworks and store sale at Sullivan Livestock is on Monday, February 13, and the next sale in Biggenden at Burnett Livestock and Realty will be on Monday, February 6.
