Dad photographed daughter's genitals

A QUEENSLAND police officer faced court on Monday accused of distributing a photo of his seven-year-old daughter's genitals.

The officer, who cannot be named to protect the identity of his child, is accused of taking the photo on his phone and texting it to a third party on April 3.

An indecent dealing charge was added to the child exploitation material distribution charge when the 42-year-old, from the Logan area, faced Brisbane Magistrates Court for the first time on Monday.

The court heard the South Eastern Region constable had bail conditions prohibiting him from spending time with his daughter or her four-year-old sister unless her mother, her mother's parents, the officer's parents or a representative from the Child Safety Department were present.

The officer was suspended from official duty with QPS when he was charged.

"In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have an undertaking to inform the public when an officer faces criminal or disciplinary charges," police said at the time.

The case was adjourned until May 14.
