QUEENSLANDER Nic Perkins has earned a special highly recommended gong from the Invasive Animals Cooperative Research Centre for his stunning image of feral goats.

The photo was entered in a national competition which attracted 391 entries.

Fellow Queenslanders Michelle Colson, Wendy Betts and Stephen Zozaya were also recognised for their images.

IACRC Natural Resource Management facilitator Jessica Marsh said competition was tough.

"The prize-winning shot of a native eagle taking off as a feral fox hones in on the carcass of a kangaroo was taken by a motion camera," she said.
