Bullocks sell to $2184/head at Biggenden

BURNETT Livestock and Realty's meatworks and store sale on Monday, February 20, had a yarding of 2000 head.

In the meatworks section, bullocks and cows sold to a firm market. Store cattle sold to similar rates.

Bullocks sold to 270c/kg. Cows 500kg-plus topped at 255c/kg. Cows 400-500kg made to 240c/kg.

Trade heifers more than 400kg topped at 312c/kg.

Feeder steers 400-500kg sold to a top of 340c/kg, while steers 300-400kg sold to 346c/kg.

Steers 200-300kg sold to 348c/kg. Heifers 300-400kg sold to a top of 325c/kg. Heifers 200-300kg topped at 340c/kg.

Cattle were drawn from Monto, Scotchy Pocket, Murgon, Eidsvold, Mundubbera, Mt Perry, Gayndah, Maryborough, Hervey Bay, Childers, Bundaberg, South Kolan, Bucca, Rosedale, Lowmead, Miriam Vale, Gin Gin, Booyal and all local areas.

  • DW&AG Morris, Gin Gin, sold milk and two tooth brahman steers for 324c/$1637.

  • JT&YM Hetherington, Dallarnil, sold milk and two brahman-cross steers for 322c/$1605.
  • The Rockemer family, Booubyjan, sold milk tooth belmont red cross steers for 320c/$1136.
  • Wayne Sauer, Tiaro, sold droughtmaster milk tooth steers for 330c/$1084.
  • Brian Sargood, Biggenden, sold milk tooth droughtmaster steers for 344c/$974.
