AS THE Murwillumbah Show weekend approaches Andrew and Daniel Brown would normally be preparing vegetables to enter in the fresh produce competitions, but on this day they decided to give cow leading a go with the help of champion leader Trent Bormann.

"We enter beans, squash, peas and watermelons normally, and I won champion beetroot one year."

"There will be no peas entered this year, because I have eaten them all. I only like the best juicy peas," Daniel chuckles to his little brother.

Mr Bormann, the current Royal Brisbane Show Champion Leader, chose his best behaved mooer Floss, a 15-month-old jersey heifer for the boys to practise their skills with.

"Leading is all about paying attention to what the judge is looking for and being in sync with your cow or calf," Mr Bormann said. The show is on November 1 and 2.
