THE Queensland Farmers' Federation has voiced its concerns about recent reports that truck drivers are being placed under unreasonable pressure by the major supermarket chains.
The Transport Workers' Union staged several protests at Coles stores last week to highlight what they said were impossible deadlines that were causing a safety risk for drivers and other road users.
A QFF spokesman said while some farmers had established positive working relationships with the supermarkets, others had a less satisfactory relationship and could relate to the concerns of truck drivers.
"The mounting pressure the supermarket duopoly is placing on other sectors of the supply chain is a clear indication of their very strong influence and dominance of markets and supply chains," he said.
