Gin Gin cattle sale
THERE were 432 store cattle sold at Elders Saleyards in Gin Gin on Monday, June 18.
The best weaner steers were harder to maintain recent high values and eased $30, although the younger, lighter and plainer animals still remained firm.
Emdee Enterprises of Mt Perry sold well grown Droughtmaster/Brahman steers for $530.
Ken and Rhonda Roylance sold No.2 grey weaner steers for $490.
Harry Cross of Rosedale sold No.2 grey Brahman weaner steers for $470.
Michael and Tina Dingle, Miriam Vale, sold No.2 Brahman weaner steers for $480.
Joe Sweeney of Yandaran sold No.2 Droughtmaster steers for $510.
Phil and Kay Spencer of Miriam Vale sold younger, lighter No.2 Red Brahman steers for $430.
The younger, lighter Brahman steers sold from $380 to $460. Heifers held up well, with Red Brahman heifers two and a half years, well joined selling for $650.
No.1 white Brahman, store heifers, unjoined, sold for $500.
Trevor and Margaret Dawson of Taunton sold No.2 Braford Cross heifers for $445.
Daryl Owen, Miriam Vale, sold light Crossbred No.2 weaner heifers for $395.
Bettiens Farms, Tirroan, sold No.2 SantaX weaner heifers for $415.
The lighter, younger weaner heifers sold from $300 to $340.
A pen of Red Santa X cows with weaner calves reached $910.
Laurie Mitchel of Bororen sold store cows with small calves for $750.
