CQLX Gracemere cattle sale
WITH 10-50mm of rain falling over most of the local area during the week, only 440 head came to hand at CQLX Gracemere last Friday.
With the smaller yarding, the market was fully firm and dearer across the board.
The offering comprised 245 steers and bullocks, 145 heifers, 49 cows and one bull. Cattle were drawn from Collinsville in the north, west as far as Dingo and south to Miriam Vale.
Steers to 200kg sold for 179c/kg or $316 a head.
Steers 201-300kg averaged 187c/kg or $490, reaching a top of 204c/kg or $546. Steers 301-400kg averaged 158c/kg or $542, to peak at 167c/kg or $572.
Steers 401-500kg averaged 175c/kg or $794, with a top of 183c/kg or $888.
Steers over 500kg averaged 165c/kg or $884 and reached a top of 172c/kg or $1072.
Heifers to 200kg sold for 185c/kg or $106 a head. Heifers 201-300kg averaged 148c/kg or $272, reaching a top of 169c/kg or $364.
Heifers 301-400kg averaged 173c/kg or $644, to peak at 181c/kg or $700.
Heifers over 400kg averaged 151c/kg or $645 and reached a top of 172c/kg or $774.
The single heavy bull on offer for the day sold for 98c/kg or $613.
