Mackay area sugar crush update

FARLEIGH, Marian and Racecourse mills crushed 240,146 tonnes of cane last week, bringing the season total to 5,138,003 tonnes.

The major cause of lost time at Marian and Racecourse mills was vacuum losses at the pan stage and both mills addressed this problem throughout the week. Fugal availability was an issue at the end of the week and a focus has been placed on preventative maintenance around this station to improve performance. The CCS continues to remain high but with the continuing dry spell we expect PRS and purities to drop further. Focus remains on maximising throughput for the last two weeks of the crushing season.

Tonnes crushed for the week:

  • Farleigh:72,828
  • Marian:99,493
  • Racecourse:67,825
  • Total, Mackay mills:240,146

  • PRS for week:15.10
  • CCS for week:14.81
  • Total cane crushed to date:5,138,003
