CQLX Gracemere cattle sale
A LARGER yarding of 3793 head came to hand at CQLX Gracemere last Friday, comprising of 1668 steers and bullocks, 1451 heifers, 404 cows, 170 mickey bulls, 60 bulls and 40 cows and calves.
With the larger yarding came some useful lines of cattle which met with strong competition both in the meatworks and heavy feeder steer section.
Steers to 200kg averaged 204c/kg or $356/head, while 201-300kg steers topped at 214c/kg, averaging at 188c/kg or $460/head.
Steers 301-400kg averaged 178c/kg, 401-500kg steers averaged 177c/kg or $793/head and steers over 550kg averaged 161c/kg to $921/head, topping at $1242/head.
Heifers to 200kg averaged 169c/kg to top at 198c/kg, 201-300kg heifers averaged 173c/kg or $407/head and 301-400kg heifers averaged 154c/kg or $531/head.
Heifers over 401kg topped at $1072/head averaging at 149c/kg or $659/head.
Cows and calves averaged $790, peaking at $880.
Cows 320-450kg averaged 120c/kg or $478/head, while those over 451kg peaked at 154c/kg, averaging to 135c/kg or $705/head.
Bulls and mickey bulls under 600kg averaged 128c/kg or $690/head while bulls over 601kg reached $1173/head averaging to 127c/kg or $891/head.
