Stirring the sugar pot at Sarina
THE last of the Mackay and surrounding district regional shows will be on this weekend at Sarina.
In more recent years, the sugar cane section at the two-day show has been a quiet affair after all of the excitement of the judging is over.
This year, with the help of Queensland Sugar Limited and MavenAgri, Canegrowers Mackay is going to change that.
Cane growers and sugar industry representatives as well as the general public are invited to call in at the Canegrowers Mackay marquee to sit down, relax and have a chat to QSL's industry relationship manager Cathy Kelly and grab some information about how MavenAgri can help growers, as Agri Consultants, with sugar pricing. Catch up also with communications manager for Canegrowers Mackay Sonia Ball.
To sweeten the sugar pot this year, Canegrowers Mackay is hosting a Guess the Billet Bits in the Bucket competition sponsored by MavenAgri. Guessers of all ages are invited to make a guess and it's free.
The winner of the $50 voucher will be drawn on Sunday at noon.
This Sarina Show sugar team is inviting all Canegrowers members and the sugar cane committee and judges to take a seat and share a cuppa courtesy of QSL on Saturday through to 5pm and Sunday through to noon.
