Gympie cattle sale
A SMALLER rain-affected yarding of 500 cattle at Sullivan Livestock's Gympie Cattle Sale held on Monday saw the market firm-to-dearer for all descriptions.
Cattle were drawn from Mt Perry, Maryborough, Goomeri, Woolooga, Maleny, Kenilworth and all local areas.
Not many heavy feeder steers were yarded and sold to a top of $1.85 or $921. Good quality braford-cross steers 18 months from the Corkin Family, Maleny, sold for $1.88 to return $690 and $664.
Brahman steers from Tiloma Pastoral, Sexton, sold for $1.84 or $642. Charbray-cross steers from Bennett & Blight sold for $1.88 or $645. Brangus steers 10 months from Rod and Helen Janke of Widgee sold for $1.93 or $695. Charbray steers from Toogoolawah sold for $590 and $561.
The Glasby Family sold limousin-cross steers for $2.04 or $561.
Charbray steers from the Heness Family, Goomeri sold for $2.05 to return $525-$510.
Droughtmaster-cross feeder heifers from Stuart and Linda Vollmerhausen of Theebine sold for $1.85 or $722 and $646.
Heavy feeder heifers from the Heness Family sold for $1.75 or $805 and $774. Brangus heifers 10 months from Rod and Helen Janke sold for $1.86 or $615. Quality charbray heifers from Toogoolawah sold for $2.04 or $559.
Good conditioned vealer heifer sold to a dearer market topping at $2.08 for brangus heifers from Drew and Leith Curtis, Langshaw, returning $459. Charbray heifers from Alan and Helen Janke sold for $2.05 or $491.
Limousin-cross heifers from Keith Wolgast, Yerra, sold for $2.05 or $421. Charbray heifers from the Heness Family sold for $2.05 or $449.
Brahman-cross heifers from R & M Bargenquast, Teebar sold for $2.04 or $409. Pregnancy-tested cows from Brendan Paulger, Kenilworth, sold for $935. While santa-cross charbray cows PTIC from the Atthow Family, Kilkivan, sold for $930 & $860.
