Mud to fly as 4WDs hit the slosh
THE battle of man and machine against mud and dirt is back on again this year, promising thrills and spills aplenty all weekend.
Caboolture Four-Wheel-Drive Club is teaming up with a range of sponsors including Billabong Mahindra and Toughen the Truck up to bring everyone the show they've come to love.
Club president Michael Eather said the whole club was gearing up for the big event.
"We try to get the track up and running every year, improve the track every year," he said.
"There'll be action all day for three days."
Billabong Mahindra and Toughen the Truck Up will have some of their most powerful vehicles on hand to wreak havoc on the course and they'll even give the public a chance to take a ride with them.
They'll also be giving away invites to Landcruiser Mountain Park, the "ultimate four-wheel-drive recreation experience".
Les Bell, general manager, said apart from the chance to see trucks done up with "every accessory under the sun", the boys from Billabong will have plenty more on offer.
"If they're serious four-wheel-drive people we can help them and show them how to make their four-wheel-drive safe," he said.
"We've got on-site fitters who'll give them a quote on how to dress their four-wheel-drive up.
Of course they'll also be running daily demonstrations to show why Billabong Mahindra and Toughen the Truck up are perfect for all your off-road needs.
Even if four-wheeled fury isn't quite your thing there's still plenty on offer thanks to Manager Dave Lucas and the rest of the crew down at Caboolture Yamaha.
They'll have a few well-known riders tearing up the track on the newest gear from Yamaha and Dave said the show's never disappointed before.
"The crowd was unbelievable last year," he said.
"You're going to be seeing pure skill, staying on the bikes, going up over rocks and logs."
And if you want more wheels rather than less, Argo ATV Australia will have you covered with their amphibious, six-wheeled monsters.
They're the exclusive Australian distributor of the versatile vehicles and General Manager Gary Olsen said while business was booming, the local area was just as important to them as ever.
"It's a big event on the calendar," he said.
"It's the biggest event in the area and it would be crazy for us not to be involved."
Coromal Sunshine Coast has proudly been a part of Farm Fantastic for the last eight years, but you may have to get used to a new name for the well respected caravan dealer.
From this year on, Manager Gary Lomas and the rest of the Caboolture team will be known as Sunshine Coast RV.
He said the name might have changed but it was still the same team with the same great service.
Visitors to the track will be treated to the sight of cars towing caravans over the off-road course, which Gary said proved the versatility of his range.
"We usually take at least one of our vans around the track hitched up to one of the four-wheel-drive vehicles," he said.
ARB is bringing their famous Traction & Travel Bed to show everyone why an ARB airlocker can make a world of difference everywhere from the boat ramp to the bush.
Director Scott Jennings said their airlocker was so useful because drivers didn't have to think about it.
"The ease of the use of ours is they are instant when you want them and instantly off when you want them," he said.
You really are spoilt for choice when it comes to accessories providers at the show this year.
Opposite Lock 4WD and Vehicle Accessories will also be on hand to show off their wares, and perhaps more importantly, sponsor the rock crawling challenge.
Owner Paul Ikin said he wasn't really targeting the extreme market.
"We're into the recreational four-wheel-drivers, the Mum and Dad four-wheel-drivers," he said.
They offer a nationwide warranty on all parts, meaning you can travel across the country with peace of mind.
If you have even a drop of petrol running through your veins then the four-wheel-drive track is one fantastic farm experience not to be missed.
Don't miss Farm Fantastic from July 20-22.
