NEWSFLASH - Your Tent or Mine to stand in Central Queensland at Riverside Stud, Alton Downs, owned by Bruce Watt.
A new addition to Central Queensland, Your Tent or Mine will be a perfect outcross for Australian mares.
Winning as a two-year-old, three starts for two wins from 5½ furlongs (1100m) to six furlongs (1200m); winning the Group 3 Hollywood preview stakes and placing in the Group 1 Hollywood futurity, Your Tent or Mine is by the Deputy Minister stallion Forest Camp (USA). Out of Mr Prospector mare, She's Got The Look (USA) provides a brilliant outcross for Australian mares with Northern Dancer at four by five generations back in the pedigree.
With Your Tent or Mine progeny just rising - after he stood initially in Victoria, he became embattled in legal wrangle and was lost genetically to the industry for two years - he is now being reproduced embargo-free by Riverside's Bruce Watt. The sire of Your Tent or Mine, Forest Camp, is interestingly by Deputy Minister, the sire of three-time national champion stallion Dehere - who needs no introduction.
AS I write this, it is thoroughbred day at the Brisbane Exhibition and in the three-year-old colt and under class, the place-getters include the quality colt I Get By, who is sired by Your Tent or Mine, out of Bada Bing owned by Rochelle Smith.
Your Tent or Mine was a good two-year-old winning horse himself but his racing career was cut short due to injury and he should be a good source of two-year-old winners for the future. Coming from a strong genetic background and personal performance, he comes well recommended and well priced.
