Grafton fat cattle market

VENDOR OF THE WEEK: BA & MJ Moran of Cinmah Simmentals at Brushgrove were selected as the Vendor of the Week at the Grafton Prime Cattle Sale held on Tuesday. The vendor sold four Simmental bullocks with the heaviest two averaging 690kg and selling for 175c/kg to realise $1207.50/head. THERE were 482 head of cattle yarded at Grafton on Tuesday. The market opened strong with bullocks and cows selling fully firm to a shade dearer. Vealers to processors also sold well to remain unchanged from last week. Light restocker calves sold a shade easier.

Prices per kilo: Export bullocks 164-180; heifers 150-180; cows prime131-155, medium 120-144; boner 115-140.

Trade: Light steers 218-270; light heifers 209-235; yearlings 195-211; vealers under 190kg 206-212; vealers over 190kg 205-211; bobby calves 288-335.

THERE were 481 head of cattle yarded at Grafton on Tuesday.

Another light yarding this week with some well finished cattle in the export section all selling firm on last week's rates. Most young cattle showing signs of the season suiting restockers. The better finished calves sold on par to processors.
