Farmers proud to be in top trusted
LAST week the survey results of the most trusted professions was released and farmers managed to pull a spot in the top 10.
Paramedics took out first spot, firefighters second and farmers came in at number seven, ahead of medical specialists and the police.
Warwick farmer Cameron Smith said it made him feel very proud.
"We can hold our heads high knowing that the public hold us in such good stead," he said.
Mr Smith said farmers had a trustworthy job.
"Because we are seen as genuine people and we are not out to put anyone else down we come across as trustworthy," he said.
"We are all prize takers and prize makers.
"Our job does not involve us making life difficult for others."
Mr Smith said farmers did not deal with the general population as much as politicians.
"Farmers don't have the need to tell lies," he said.
