Photos from Rural Weekly readers
TWO OF A KIND: Rural Weekly reader Kelven Gillam snapped this photo of a pair of albino plumed grass whistler ducks at the Gooseponds in Mackay. When they are on the ground the other ducks chase them away, but the parent ducks are quite protective of them. He said this was the first time he has seen the albino ones, and he and his wife have lived in the area for many years. He said his wife has been putting grain out and we get a number of wood ducks, grass whistlers and other big birds feeding here. They were stilling on our neighbours garage roof when he took this photo.
